Children’s centre
The Children’s centre services are designed to meet the needs of the local area. They offer parents, children and young people support to help them learn and develop.
These will vary from area to area but typically could include:
• stay & play
• community activities
Help to prepare your child for school:
• access to local childcare providers
• child’s journey information pack
Practical advice on health, family and financial matters:
• one stop shops
• baby clinics
Support with adult learning, job opportunities and training:
• access to a Jobcentre Plus advisor
• volunteering opportunities
Additional support
Sometimes families need some extra help and support. At these times it is important that the right services are made available. If you feel you need this extra support there are a number of people you can talk to, including:

Chestnut Centre Library
New opening times – Monday – Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm
The Chestnut Centre library offers a wide range of services whilst being able to borrow your favourite books. Don’t worry if the book you want is not there, you can order it in. Chestnut library also offer a book drop off service which enables you to return your books there even if they are from another library.
Chestnut library computer suite
Their are computers available for you to use with access to the internet. Printing, photo copying and scanning are also available here.
